Maddalena Amendola was born in 1995 in Barletta, Italy.
She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Bari and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Pisa. She developed her Master’s thesis abroad at the Data Science Institute of Imperial College in London with the DataLearning Working Group. In January 2020, Maddalena obtained a research grant that concerns studying and evaluating algorithms and systems for Social Information Retrieval with applications in Industry 4.0 contexts with the IIT Institute of CNR in Pisa. She is currently a first-year student of the National Ph.D. of Artificial Intelligence. Her research focuses on studying and developing new methodologies to exploit advanced social interaction and social entities models to improve the performance of Social Search systems.
